I was trying to clear some disk space on my desktop and came across some old pictures of my wedding.  This is my favourite one... my wedding cake!!! lemon-poppy seed cake.  Yummy... I am hungry now.

I have been handicapped for two weeks.  I quit my job end of last year and had to surrender the laptop.  I've been surviving with my faithful 6 year old PIII so far.  All I can say is that I have now more time to tidy up my computer desk while I wait for Microsoft Word to load.

 

I needed to install software to help a friend with some work and I realised I couldn't because it's so slow.

 

I remember when I started work "long time ago", my desktop had 16 MB RAM.... and that was sufficient for all my daily tasks.  But now I need 1GB.  Why is it that we need more and more as we "progress"?

 

40 years ago houses costs RM7,000 (said my parents), now they costs RM400,000

40 years ago, a bit of peace and a filled stomach is all it takes to make one happy, now it takes aircon, astro and a fast computer.

 

Also reminds me of something someone once told me, you only need to be pretty to get a rich husband 40 years back but now you need to be pretty, smart and blind.

 

Bought "24 Season 5" for Fun Jin for christmas.  It was quite apt as he's been cooped up at home for 2 weeks due to his back condition.  We finished all 24 episodes of them before the New Year.

 

I am glad it's over cos it is quite addictive and distracting from your other more meaningful and healthy activities like sleep.  after watching 8 episodes a day, you tend to feel really out of the world and depressed.  You know it's bad when you started screaming in my dreams.

 

Anyway, I would like to think that it was quite educational as well.  Now I know what Nerve gas is, that there has been 4 successful attemps on US Presidents' Lives (Washington, Garfield, McKinley and JFK)... and brachial artery is the major blood supplier to the muscles of the upper arm and it runs from the shoulder down to the elbow, bleeding from this artery is life threatening.
